HAVANA PASSAGE

by Tara Sgroi

About The Exhibit

The first exhibition sponsered by In Camera at The Half King is Tara Sgroi¹s Havanna Passage. Tara Sgroi was engaged by the underlying beauty of the day to day sights on the streets of Havanna. Things a passerby might not notice, like a man walking down a staircase, or a corner store, or laundry hanging in a hollowed out palace. The muted tones and her focus on the smaller elements of a much photographed city, reminds the viewer of the resonance found in average life.

About The Photographer

Tara Sgroi was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, but now calls New York home. After attending an exchange program at Cooper Union, she set out to support herself as a photographer. Her commercial work now encompasses a broad range of editorial, advertising and catalogue work. This is her first fine art collection.

In Camera gallery was founded as a place to exhibit the fine art collections of photographers who work commercially. In a showcase partnership with The Half King, In Camera has extended its resources to include working photojournalists, sports photographers and fine artists, established or just getting started, who show us the world from their unique point of view.
